It goes for quite a good bit these days.

Hi,

I am trying to find out some more information on a bittle of Whiskey that I have had for about 20 years. It is a John Jameson 15 year old, but the label is now very faded and I cannot read most of it. Green bottle, with very simple front label, a small '15' sticker on the neck and the lid has a simple '15' on it too. Labels are a kind of brown with gold writing and outline.
If anyone has any info on this I would really appreciate it. If a photo of the bottle would help please let me know.
After searching online I see that Jameson had a 15 year limited edition to celebrate the millenium (I'm presuming the 1988 Dublin millenium), but the bottle is completely different.

I tried calling Harvey Nicks to find out what time of the day these tastings are being held.
After 10 minutes waiting on an empty line while a waitress sought to find someone who knew, I gave up and hung up.
I think I'll be giving this series of tastings a miss and stick with the tried and tested Celtic Whiskey Shop tastings and of course the new Irish Whiskey society meetings.

I think the Blue, Green and Gold are very good whiskies. The Green is all-malt too. You get a lot of Caol Ila from them.

The tastings are not bad value, really, considering the cost of a shot of these in some Dubin pubs. You'd be paying over 10 euro for a Bushmills 21 (which is excellent).

The 21yo is the only one of the Bushmills I haven't tried so that does attract me.

I've never had a sup of the JWs either but you hear a lot of talk about them. I feel trying them all in one fell swoop will clue me in on a range that is, at the very least, important for its ubiquity and popularity. Besides, I hear good things about the Blue.

The third week is just a combo of what's tasted on the other days. Not really much of an incentive to book all four classes for me.
And I'd be pretty familiar with the Bush output anyway. Though it would be a good opportunity for anyone who hasn't tried the 21 yo to give it a go.
And I've precisely zero interest in tasting a load of different Johnny Walkers, to be honest.
Overpriced Scotch blends are of little interest to me for three reasons - they're blends, they're overpriced, and they're Scotch blends.
The first evening intrigues me the most. I might well pop along to it. Some of those malts you don't see very often in these parts.

I don't know what a Master of Whiskey is either :-) It was part of the Harvey Nicks blurb for this course. Perhaps Mr Duffy could get in touch? I wasn't able to find contact details for him on the internet.

They sound like worthwhile classes, and would certainly be a great introduction to whiskey. I'm tempted myself by the chance to sample all of the JWs or Bushmills head-to-head.
